Oregon

October 2017
We took our annual trip up to Oregon!  This time, we drove up to Portland and stayed at my cousin Laurie's house for a few days and did some fun/different/free things in Portland.

Our first stop was the Portland temple.  It is so beautiful and hidden in the forest.

 Rose Garden

 Little Big Burger
The BEST fries-tossed in truffle oil
We bought a bunch of different kinds of donuts to try-cinnamon sugar, chocolate almond ganache, passion fruit, raspberry pistachio, benets.  They were so good.
 Gluten Free bakery

 Voodoo donuts

Ellie and Max got a donut the size of Texas!

We had to pay for parking EVERYWHERE.  We ended up with so many parking meter reciepts!
Famous chef was walking down the street - Christopher Kimball
 Worlds largest book store

We went into a cool old hotel that had a photo booth and took our picture.

We ate lunch at Hotlips pizza

We visited the world's tiniest park.  It was in the middle of the road so we had to cross the street and look at it before crossing back!

Kale found his name on a restaurant sign

We visited this weird Peculiaruim museum

It was so cold we had to stop and get hot chocolate at a chocolate shop

We went to a park that had a huge water fountain but the water was turned off so the kids just played around on it.

There was a man making spray paint painting.  He let the kids help him with the painting of the planets.

We had to go down to the water and see all the bridges

We had someone tell us we had to eat dinner at this restaurant.  They had all different kinds of mac and cheese and we ate fried alligator.

As we drove down the coast to coos bay, it was monsoon type weather.  It was blowing so hard we could hardly stand and the sand was blowing in our faces.
We always have to stop at Tilamook to get some ice cream!

When we got to Coos Bay, it was so cold and rainy the entire time we were there that we couldn't get out on the boat to fish and crab so we had to find indoor things to do.  We went to a little aquarium that the university used in the bay.

Since we didn't get to catch any fish, we had to go to a restaurant to get some!

Our drive home presented us with more rain and wind
