Candy corns....

I am really trying to do Christmas activities with the kids. It is hard because I feel so crapy half the time that it is such a big deal but today we made candy cane cookies. Ellie called them candy corns. They had a great time and we ended up eating most the dough because it was so good then the kids just played with it like playdough!

Pictures of the kids

I don't get my kids pictures taken very often probably because I am so cheap. It kills me to spend $80 on a package when you only get one setting and you get like 500 pictures. You end up with all the pictures left over and it is just a waste! I wait until Target has their sheets for $3.99 plus you get a free 8X10 then I got an extra 8X10 so I spent like $15.00!! Then it is such a huge deal. The last pictures I have of Kale, he is crying because he didn't want his picture taken. This time thankfully he did so
well. He went right in and was ready.
This time it was Ellie who didn't want her picture taken.
She is sitting on my lap in her picture and the one with th kids together, is the only one that turned out! But I think they turned out pretty good.
Update on my pregnancy the countdown has begun!!!! Halleluyah!! In a week and a half we are scheduling an induction for probably right after Christmas. I am so ready. I am so uncomfortable and HUGE. I can't do anything without getting winded and light headed and have to sit down! My blood sugar was high when I did my test but thankfully I didn't have to take the second test because it was high with my other 2 pregnancies so the doctor just told me to watch what I eat. It is weird because Nate was diagnost with Type 1 diabetes this year and I have huge babies but have not officially been diagnosed with gestational diabetes but who knows if they are all linked. But man I can tell when my blood sugar is too high because I get so light headed and feel like I am going to faint. So anyway baby is coming soon and mom is happy! Can't wait to fit back into my jeans and work out!!!

Tribute to Henry.....

Our beloved hamster, Henry, died on Sunday. Kale received him as a gift for his birthday last year. Nate went into the room where he lived to feed him and came out whispering that Henry was dead! I didn't believe him until I looked for myself. I told Nate that this was a good time to have a discussion on the plan of salvation! So we took the kids in and told them that Henry had died. Kale wondered if he would resurrect and we said He would. Heavenly Father knows that we loved him and would let us see him again. We put him in a box and took him out in the backyard and buried him. I whisteled taps while Nate dug the hole and Kale put him into the ground. Everyday since, Kale has asked multiple times if Henry has resurrected yet! I asked him if he was sad but he said "no, i'm happy because we will see him again! As for me....no more stinky cage, no more cleaning out the cage, no more sleepless nights because Henry is SO loud on his exercise wheel, no more well you get the picture!!

My babies birthday!

Ellie's Birthday was on the 25th. I can't believe she is 2 (not that it is all that old!) The time has gone so fast. She was so excited to have a birthday, especially after just having Kale's. You would ask her who's birthday it was and she would say "mine"! When she woke-up that morning we had a bunch of balloons in the living room and all day she would say "birthday, balloons, cupcakes, presents"! It was funny. She was so happy to have a birthday! Here she is sporting her birthday gifts!
She is a total girl so loves all the pretty stuff!

What a nut!

Let the Halloween festivities begin!!

So thanks to Jacy, we headed out to the pumpkin patch tonight. The kids had so much fun picking out their pumpkin. They had a children's corn maze that I couldn't get the kids out of they loved it so much and they had a lot of tractor's sitting around which were exciting for the kids. When we payed for our pumpkins, we couldn't believe how cheap it was for the size and how many we got. It was fun to get the kids in the holiday mood!!

The funny things they do......

She's ready to ride!!
Yes, she has to have her goggles in the bathtub!!!

Kale loves looking at the "toy" catalogs I get in the mail. He makes himself comfortable and is entertained at least an hour!

Oh her hair..I put so much stuff in it to lay if flat but it just sticks up everywhere!

This week the aviary has been free so we took advantage...is he having fun???

"Came to pass"...she sat in this bucket holding this BofM saying that!!

Kale pushed our chairs together and they sit and play for the longest time in their "Boat"!

We found this hat at Old Navy and she doesn't take it off!

What a couple of weeks!

We have had quite the last couple of weeks. We started with Kale's Birthday. He turned 4 on September 28. Where has the time gone?? He was so excited and asked me everyday if it was his birthday yet. He wanted a "Police Party" so we had police hats, squirt guns, badges and handcuffs. He had a few little friends over for a little party-it ended up just as a play date with all the kids attention spans! Then Sunday we had the family over for a little party. It was fun and he got a lot of fun toys!

Then the next week, I got a bladder infection which doesn't sound like much but when your pregnant you don't get much warning (this is happened with each of my pregnancies). I called the doctor on call on Sunday night to get an antibiotic knowing I had one at that point but by Monday morning I was in so much pain and it felt like I was in labor. I spent the day in the hospital for them to stop contractions and pump me full of antibiotics, pain killer, and liquid. What an exciting day-on top of it all, it was our anniversary so that made it even more fun!! What a day to spend in the hospital. My mom was even all ready to babysit so we could go out and celebrate but she ended up staying all day while we spent the day in the hospital!!!

This is pretty amazing 3 posts in one day but this is funny--Kale's birthday is Sunday and he just randamly told be to make sure we get him a wheel chair for his birthday in case his legs stop working!!!! Oh you have to love your kids!!

I just complain so much about this but it really is fun.....I just don't know how you all find the time to do it. At night, I am so tired I just want to sit in front of the TV but during the day, I put Ellie down for a nap and then Kale starts asking "Mom, can I play a computer game"? I respond "not right now"........"Mom, now can I". This goes on for a while. We tried to hook up our old computer you know the bid tower and moniter with a keyboard! But we can't get it to work very well...probably because it has been sitting in our shed for the last couple of YEARS!! So all we have is our laptop that Kale plays on! Oh the joy.

Nate and I went to the temple last night. Our ward was in charge of the sealing this month each Tuesday night. We went as a bishopric (Nate is the 1st Councelor). The Bishops daughter watched our kids and I didn't think anything would go wrong. the Bishop brought her over because we all went together and I told her to put the kids down for bed at 7 pm. My kids are such great sleepers. I put them down and they are out within 10 minutes so I didn't think anything of it. We went out to dinner afterward so didn't get home until about 9:30. We walked in the house and I was expecting the babysitter to be sitting on the couch watching TV but the Tv was off and I could hear Kale's primary CD blasting downstairs. The babysitter walked around the corner to the bottom of the stairs and she looked like she was going to pull her hair out. I asked how it went she said Kale won't go to sleep. I could have died. The Bishop walked in with us because he always makes sure we don't pay his kids when we go to the temple and the first thing I thought was that she needed to be paid-with a huge tip. Kale was sitting on his bed with almost all his books scattered all over his bedroom floor and all his lights were on with his music really loud! Of course at bedtime I don't give in but how does the babysitter know!! He is at the age where he is trying to get away with what ever he can and oh did he walk all over the -babysitter! I went to Old Navy today to get her a gift card-I figure it's not cash so her dad can't say anything!!! I look back and man I hated babysitting!!!!

So we went camping last weekend. It is always such a big deal to go anywhere especially with kids. The car gets stuffed full of all our gear (which is usually the wife who ends up packing!) then when you get there you realize you forgot something in our case I forgot to pack the camping chairs-ya I know where do you sit around the camp fire?? Well since our kids go to bed so early at home (Ellie at 7 pm and Kale at 7:30) we just decided to go to bed! We went in about 9 pm and I read to the kids for a while then we tried to get them to go to sleep but of course the sun isn't down yet. The next morning was horrible because none of us got enough sleep and the kids well all of us were so cranky and went straight home and crashed! I of course get up and go to the bathroom every 2 hours but I found the best toilet seat you put on a bucket and some garbage bags made to go in! They were fantastic. I put it in the corner of the tent and didn't even have to go out. The garbage bags are wonderful because the have stuff in them so you don't smell anything! You got to love inventions like this. But despite all this, it was fun to get the kids into the mountains. They had so much fun especially Ellie, the walked around everywhere and kept saying "hike, hike" it was a good time. It is sad to say that this was the first time Nate and I have been camping together! He has gone alot since we have been married but never together. Hopefully we do it more often and when the kids get older it will be even better!

I will start off this blog by telling you how we started off our summer. My sister's live in North Carolina so we decided to take a 3 week vacation back east to see them. My sister lives a few miles from the NASCAR Lowe's motor speedway so we started off the trip touring the racetrack. Kale was in heaven. He loves race cars and loved the tour. He even got to get inside one of the cars which he thought was really cool!! We go to watch some cars practice. I can really see how people get into NASCAR. It was really fun.
We then took a road trip down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We spent a few days on the beach. It was heaven. It was nice to be in the same spot all day and have it entertain my kids all day!! It was also nice to have my sister's kids entertain my kids while I layed on the beach. We then went up to Washingto DC and spent a few days. We got there late one night then got up early to go into the city and it was raining so hard. It had rained so much many of the streets were flooded!! It ended up being so cold and we all had shorts on and got soaking wet. We tried to do indoor stuff but we still had to walk to get to each place then we had tickets to go up the Washington monument and had to stand outside to wait to go in. It was pretty miserable and I got sick and felt horrible!! The next few days were great though. It was warm and not a cloud in the sky. It was a really fun trip and it was great to see my sister's. I love to see them and wish we lived closer to them. On our way home, we were flying standby, we didn't make the flight out of JFK and so we were stuck in New York and had to get a hotel room which was really crappy and we had no where to go the next day when we checked out of our hotel. We started walking around and found a park but it started down pouring and so we went to the bathrooms by the park and stood. The police came driving through the park and told us we were in a really bad part of Queens that the projects were just across the street! It was pretty funny. We decided to go to the airport and were there about 5 hours before our plane left. I wish we could have gone into New York City but we didn't have time and it was bad weather. So we were glad to get home!
