The Summer olympic took place in Rio, Brazil this year. Everyday, we would watch them. The kids set up their own hurdles course and competed against each other!
Poppy bought some water balloons that are all attached together and can fill up together. When they are filled, they all detach for you to throw. When they were all filled up, we had a water balloon fight.
This is the 2nd year the big Tour of Utah race has come through Bountiful. We walked down the road to where they road up hill and watched them. They came around twice and it was fun to cheer them on!
I have never gone on a ride along with Nathan. The kids spent the night with Grandma and Poppy so I met up with Nathan and spent 4 hours with him at work. It wasn't a busy night but we did find a bank robber!
We LOVE the books by Roald Dahl. We have read almost all of them. One of our favorites was the BFG. Disney made a movie of it so we went to the theater to watch it. Like always, we had to take our pictures by the posters!
In the morning we attended the Centerville parade. It was hot but we took away a ton of candy! Then we went to Grandma and Poppy's house for games, a BBQ and fireworks.
Centerville 4th of July parade
Fireworks at Grandmas
We found some old school snake/worm fireworks and the kids had fun watching them grow.
The kids did so well in their piano recital this year. This was the last year of formal piano lessons for Grandma. She officially retired from teaching (except for her favorite grandchildren)!!
We decided to go up to Layton to the Air Show. It took us FOREVER to get into the base because there were so many people also trying to get in. By the time we finally got to the metal detectors, they wouldn't let Nate in because he had a gun. He sat outside the gate while the kids and I walked around looking at the planes on the ground and up in the sky.
Mom's cousins husband died so we decided to take a road trip to Rexburg, Idaho to the funeral. We left in the evening and spent the night in Pocatello then drove the rest of the way the next day. After the funeral, we took our time driving back home. We stopped in Grandmas town of Shelley and the potato museum in Blackfoot.
