Our beloved hamster, Henry, died on Sunday. Kale received him as a gift for his birthday last year. Nate went into the room where he lived to feed him and came out whispering that Henry was dead! I didn't believe him until I looked for myself. I told Nate that this was a good time to have a discussion on the plan of salvation! So we took the kids in and told them that Henry had died. Kale wondered if he would resurrect and we said He would. Heavenly Father knows that we loved him and would let us see him again. We put him in a box and took him out in the backyard and buried him. I whisteled taps while Nate dug the hole and Kale put him into the ground. Everyday since, Kale has asked multiple times if Henry has resurrected yet! I asked him if he was sad but he said "no, i'm happy because we will see him again! As for me....no more stinky cage, no more cleaning out the cage, no more sleepless nights because Henry is SO loud on his exercise wheel, no more well you get the picture!!

Oh, poor little hamster! Glad that Kale was able to put him to rest!
That is so sweet!! Isn't it funny how no matter whose pet it really is, Moms the one who gets stuck taking care of it!! Been there, done that!! That is just too cute!
You whistled Taps! I don't mean to be callus due to the situation, but that part made me laugh.
So sorry that Henry died. But yay for no more sticky cage cleanings!
I love that you whistled taps too. RIP Henry.
We burried our beta fish when we lived downtown. We had a funeral and everything. No lessons about resurrection, but I just can't flush a fish down the toilet. "Fish Davis" rests in peace in the back of our old cond ;-)
