Anniversary

October 2012

Nate and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary this year.  A friend let us buy his tickets to the BYU vs Utah State football game.  We went out to dinner then went to the game.  When we showed up and found our seats, we couldn't believe we were seated on the front row! It was a fun night!

Halloween 5k

Mom ran a 5k at the beginning of October.  She ran through a graveyard in the dark so it would be scary! It was her fastest 5k and she took 5th in her age group!

Kale's Baptism

September 29, 2012

Kale was baptized the day after his birthday.  Dad baptized and confirmed Kale.  Grandpa Swensen and Grandma Stoker gave some great talks.  We had some friends come over to the house afterward for a lunch.  Kale received a brand new set of scriptures, scripture bag and a tithing/money box.  We are so proud of Kale and his decision to be baptized.  We asked him if he thought he should be baptized and he said, "I know I should be".  He is such a smart and fun boy.  We are so lucky to have him in our family! 

Kale's Birthday

Kale turned 8 this year so we celebrated by having a Diary of a Wimpy Kid birthday.  Mom made a flag with pictures of wimpy kid, we made wimpy kid cupcakes, pieces of cheese were hanging all over the house.  It was a fun night and to top it all off, Kale received some great gifts!

Fun at school!

September 2012

Kale has had a fun start to his school year.  Mom got to go with him and his class to Red Butte Gardens for a field trip.  We had a great tour guide who took us around the gardens and showed us lots of different plants.  In one garden, there are plants that smell like pizza-basil, chives etc.

Kale also got to be the spotlight the week of his birthday.  He made this awesome poster  about himself-picture of his chicken, his favorite colors, his family, favorite holiday, favorite book, music because he was learning to play the piano, legos and a picture of him swimming because he loves to swim.  He did a great job on it.

Sharma and Hailey flew into town to bring Hailey to BYU Idaho.  While they were here they shot some pictures of our cute family!

School Begins

Why does summer have to come to an end? And why do the kids have to grow up? Another school year has begun! Kale is in 2nd grade-his teacher is names Mrs. Buxton.  Ellie is starting Kindergarten-her teacher is Ms. Bittner.  They were excited to get back to school to see friends.  Ellie was a little nervous because she was starting a new school and had to make new friends.

Brigham City Temple

September 2012

A new temple was built in Brigham City, Utah and we got to drive up and take a tour during the open house.  It is a beautiful temple with peach blossoms and peaches integrated throughout the decorations of the temple because of the peach orchards in the Brigham City area.

Greatest Show On Earth

We have never been to the Circus before and when it came into town we decided to see how it was.  We had a great time watching elephants, lions, dragons and of course, eating popcorn and nachos!

Girls Night

August 2012

I went on a girls night with 4 of my best girl friends from growing up.  We went to Park City and stayed at the Waldorf.  Our room was amazing! It had a gourmet kitchen, 3 bedrooms, washer/dryer.  We really had a great time.  We went swimming, we made s'mores outside by the fire, and we stayed up all night talking!

Trek

August 2012

Nate and I went with the youth in our stake on a pioneer trek.  We went up to This is the Place Heritage Park and had a two day pioneer reenactment.  The first day, we learned about how it was to live in the times of the pioneers.  We had a great dinner and a dance that night.  We slept overnight at the park then the next day woke up bright and early and started trekking up the side of the mountain.  It was a great experience and helped us appreciate what the pioneers went through!

Birthday Party

We went to the coolest birthday party this summer! The kids friend Anthony had a science birthday.  They had different stations where different science experiments were being done.

We had a fun celebration or the 24th of July.  Tee and Dave and their children came to celebrate and we had a great time doing fireworks!
