Chicks

May 2018
The 5th graders hatched chicks from eggs and they needed a home for them.  We told the school we would take as many as they wanted to give us.  They ended up giving us three of them.  The kids named them chicken names.  We bought a couple more at the store but we ended up with 3 roosters!  We named them Pollo, Dumpling, and Nugget!

Wrestling Banquet

April 2018
Kale had a really great time wrestling with the Junior High School.  At the end of the season, the coaches had a banquet to give out awards and t-shirts.  The coach owns a catering business so he barbecued chicken, brisket, salmon.  It was yummy food and fun to see all the wrestlers and their families.

Pine wood derby

April 2018
Max made his pinewood derby car into a narwal.  It was so incredibly cute!  He used a shell for the horn and painted it all blue.  Nate helped him cut it out so it had a tail and a rounded body.

I can do

April 2018
All the fifth grade classes at the elementary school were invited to be a part of a dance performance with teachers from Ballet West.  They practiced the dances every Friday and then got to go downtown to West High school and perform with the other schools invited to perform.  Each school had a dance plus they had a couple dances all together.  There were a lot of kids in the gym dancing.  It was really fun!

Garden

April 2018
When I quit the temple, they gave me a gift certificate at a nursery so we went and got some plants and started our garden.  The kids each picked out a plant to plant.  Max got a lavender plant he called Kevin!
Ellie had a hard year with bees-she had gotten stung a few times so she would cover herself when she went outside.

Court of Honor

April 2018
Kale received a couple of awards at our wards court of honor.
